Oye Tigre! The DR is full of more than just white sandy beaches and rum! The food of the island is full of Sol and spice. Here is a tip you can use to take a bit of La Isla home with you; Plantains are a great source of potassium and fiber, and hella tasty when pan fried. When selecting a plantain look for a nice BLACK peel. This means that all of the sugars have left the peel and the fruit is nice and sweet, ready to be sliced up and tossed in the pan for our favorite plantanos maduros!

Love island ingredients & combining diverse flavors? Then you’ll love the modern day cuisine of the DR! Join us for our Cocina Dominicana class where you’ll learn about the culinary traditions that inspire the DR’s modern day mix of flavors, while preparing a sweet and savory meal of epic proportions!
