Here’s how to celebrate SOF-style!
Recipe: Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce
Marinate this over skewers on the grill, for a perfect combo of sweet and spicy flavor!
-1 habanero pepper, seeded and minced
-1/2 cup chopped white onion
-2 garlic cloves, minced
-1 tablespoon butter
-1 (32-oz.) bottle ketchup (such as Heinz)
-1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
-1 cup apple cider vinegar
-1/2 cup orange Juice
-1/2 cup honey
-1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-1 teaspoon kosher salt
-1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
-1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
Dice onion, garlic, and habanero pepper then sauteed with butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat 4 to 5 minutes or until translucent. Be careful not to burn the butter!
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat to low; simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.
Use immediately, or refrigerate in an airtight container up to 1 month.
